Joe Young is a dedicated and empathetic teacher who has taught both ukulele and voice for years. This includes several seasons at Kerrisdale Community Centre, Kitsilano Community Centre, and with the Sarah McLaughlin School of Music. His training is in both education and music and his philosophy of teaching can be boiled down to ensuring that good technique is established so that students are able to be successful and enjoy themselves both during and after the class is finished. He also puts more focus on both this and actually enjoying the learning process than being able to hit arbitrary achievement goals. Different people learn at different paces and that should be respected as much as possible!
