Music in the Park Is Back!

Music in the Park returns this summer, kicking off Friday, July 8, with Kristina Emmott and Friends performing acoustic music for children. Then catch the Caribbean rhythms of SweetPan (July 15), an encore of Kristina Emmott and Friends (July 22) and acoustic-electric folk-pop duo Fraser-Henderson (July 29). Lug a lawn chair or pack a blanket and kick back to the sounds of summer. Fridays, 6:30-7:30 p.m., beside the Maple Grove Park playground (6875 Yew Street).

Cooling Centre Open

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for today (June 26). As a result, the Kerrisdale Community Centre will be operating as a cooling centre till 8 p.m.  Our lobby, seating spaces and washrooms are available to the general public, as well as well-behaved and cared for pets, to get respite from the heat. If you’re feeling the heat, please keep safe by bringing yourself and loved ones to the centre today.

Next Opera Zone: Sunday, July 3

Head into summer on the right notes by attending the next Opera Zone! Held July 3 from 2-4 p.m. in the Seniors Centre Multipurpose Room, the all-ages event promises arias and songs by Gerard Satamian and other notable opera singers. Please register prior to the event, either by phone (604-257-8100) or online. And an Opera Zone Program Card is required at the door ($10 annual fee or $5 to drop in).

The Opera Zone Is Back This Sunday!

Enjoy an afternoon of listening to arias and songs by Gerard Satamian and other accomplished opera singers! A $10 annual registration fee is required to attend Opera Zone performances to the year or pay $5 to drop in.
