An Award of Appreciation from Vancouver School Board

The Kerrisdale Community Centre Society (KCCS) recently received an Award from the Vancouver School Board’s Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) program in appreciation of its collaboration and support in hosting Youth Volunteer Fairs and Chinese New Year celebrations in past years. The program targets youth in Vancouver schools who are new arrivals to Canada. The Award was presented during the “UNICEF Newcomer Youth Ambassador Recognition & Nepal Earthquake Relief Fundraiser” organized by SWIS at Lord

KCCS Board members joined National Aboriginal Day Celebration

The Kerrisdale Community Centre Society (KCCS) was invited by the Musqueam Indian Band to attend their National Aboriginal Day Celebration on June 19, 2015. KCCS was represented by Fred Jay – Vice President, Barb Mikulec – Chair of Program Committee, Terry Kong – Board Member and Alison Verghese – Administrative Assistant. Following Chief Wayne Sparrow’s welcome, the Celebration featured traditional Musqueam dance performances, a salmon barbecue lunch, local artists, crafters and vendors selling their wares

Strong Presence at 2015 Kerrisdale Carnival

           Hundreds of Carnival spectators and shoppers stopped by the Kerrisdale Community Centre Society (KCCS) booth in front of the CIBC Bank on West 41st Avenue and Vine Street during the 2015 Kerrisdale Carnival Day on April 25. The annual Parade and Celebration was organized by the Kerrisdale Business Association. The KCCS booth was decorated with colourful balloons and a banner showcasing Kerrisdale Community Centre’s having been voted the Best Community Centre
