The second Kerrisdale-Musqueam Story Circle will feature Gitxsan artist and independent scholar Michael Blackstock. With a Masters of Art in First Nations Studies, Blackstock has served as a member of the UNESCO-IHP Expert Advisory Group on Water and Cultural Diversity.
Youth aged 15-30 are invited to engage in an open dialogue about climate change solutions and Indigenous knowledge. Blackstock will also introduce his recently published book, Oceaness, which includes poems, essays and art works on water, ecology, oral history, human rights, music and humour.
Each participant will receive a signed copy of Blackstock’s poetry collection, Salmon Run, a gift made possible by the Vancouver Arts Colloquium Society. Register today to save your spot.
