Remembering Norm Funk

The Kerrisdale Community Centre Society (KCCS) is sad to hear of the recent passing of Norm Funk. Norm was the KCCS accountant from 1990 to 2016, serving under seven different treasurers. During that time, he provided the structure of our financial statements and recommended many of the policies and protocols that continue to serve the society well today. Norm will be remembered as pleasant, knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful. We send our condolences to his family and loved ones.

A celebration of life was held on Thursday, January 12, at the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Aldergrove (26245 28th Ave.).

  1. I have known Norm for over 39 years and he has always been an amazing person with the greatest personality and always willing to help people in need. When I first met Norm (I was a student at UBC), he was my boss at the Mount Pleasant Boy’s and Girl’s Club summer program. He was the best boss you could ask for…patient, thoughtful, helpful and full of positive energy! We kept in touch over the years and one day when I had my dental practice in Langley, he became my patient. He always had a great sense of humour and great stories to tell. He was an exceptional human being and I had the privilege of knowing him for over 39 years!
    I will miss you, Norm!
