Phase 3 allows us to return to relatively “normal” operations — a significant and welcome change for patrons and staff, but reinstating normal operations at the. Kerrisdale Community Centre will be gradual. Some care is still necessary to protect everyone from the virus.
Effective July 1:
- Public and staff are not required to wear masks; however it is recommended for anyone 12 years and older who has not been fully vaccinated. Some staff and members of the public may wish to continue wearing a mask for some time – please respect other people’s choices
- One-way directional traffic throughout the facility is no longer required
- Easing of physical distancing requirements
Plexiglass barriers and floor marking (for waiting inside and outside) will remain for the time being.
Additional changes will be made over the coming days and weeks as we shift back to our regular operations, but for now we will continue the other protocols and procedures in place (ex. high touch cleaning, no drop-ins, registered session for exercise room and pool). Areas that have been closed will begin to reopen over the next number of days/weeks. Some aspects of the community centre (e.g. water fountains and showers that have been out of commission), will take a bit longer to reactivate as we’ll need to follow certain protocols.
We will continue to post updates as we work through changes at the Centre.
If you have questions/concern as we ease restrictions during this busy but exciting time please come and speak with Ian Broadbent, Community Recreation Supervisor.
