Kerrisdale Fall In-Person Programs starts – Sept 14

Registration will be on Thursday September 10th at 9am (online) as well as in-person at the Senior Centre front desk at 9am.  Timesavers will be handed out at 8am at the Seniors Centre. Registration by telephone will be on Friday September 11 at 9am.

PRESCHOOL & CHILDREN

Outdoor Sportball Multisport – Sportball Vancouver

This program is designed to guide children through the introductory skills in a number of different ball sports. Games and skills are taught in a fun and creative manner by using story lines to encourage participation. All programs are non-competitive and focus on success while building confidence. In order to limit equipment sharing in programs, each child will be provided with a Sportball equipment pack on the first day of programming. This pack must be brought to class each week. The equipment is included in the registration fee and is yours to keep once the program is done. Enjoy your class outside with plenty of physical distancing. Please note: Pre-registration is required, no on-site drop-in available. This class is outdoors so come dressed for the weather, program will run rain or shine, subject to conditions of the field.

Outdoor Hip Hop Dance Party – Endorphin Rush Dance & Fitness (new dates)

This non-stop action-packed outdoor class introduces hip hop, basic break dancing and dance games that will have your young dancer moving to the beats. Outdoor Game Ready Speed & Sports – Dino Geremia (new dates)

Improve running form, change of direction and agility. In addition to drills; a variety of workouts will be incorporated to improve sports skills; soccer, & volleyball. The importance of multi-sport skills in overall development is appreciated. This outdoor program will combine a disciplined focus balanced with fun and games. This class is outdoors so come dressed for the weather, program will run rain or shine, subject to conditions of the field.

Outdoor Group Fitness – Zumba: Tanya Hillson De Meza

When participants see a Zumba class in action, they can’t wait to give it a try. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There’s no other fitness class like a Zumba Fitness-Party. It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students. This class is outdoors so come dressed for the weather, program will run rain or shine, subject to conditions of the field. There will be a verbal health screen for all participants.

Joint Works – Keno Kinoshita

An exercise program approved by the Arthritis Society. Suitable for those with mild to advanced Arthritis. The class helps to relieve stiffness, improve posture and increase endurance, flexibility and strength. Learn to relax your muscles and loosen up joints. Drop-in $5 seniors, if space permits.

Core Conditioning – Core Conditioning

This class focuses on core strength and stability exercises, essential for maintaining a healthy back. Bands, weights large and small exercise balls will be used. Balances exercises will be included and flexibility will improve with controlled stretching. Learn how to relax using correct breathing techniques. Please wear comfortable clothing and athletic footwear.

Move to Music – Carola Von Hahn​

Seniors Games Room – Pool/Snooker – No Instructor

Tables are available for booking starting at 9:30am Monday to Friday. Pair play only. One hour bookings are priced $2/person (2 players per table). 30 minutes of cleaning between bookings. Equipment available but we recommend you bring your own cues.

    1. Sorry for the delayed response. Yes we will be offering pickleball 4 times per week beginning October 19. It is worth mentioning that this will be very different from what participants will have been used to. Due to safety reasons, it will be one hour sessions for singles play only so a maximum of 8 participants. Hope this answers your question.

    1. Aquafit started on Oct. 13 and will be taking place four times per week; Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Please call 604-257-8100 ext. 1 for further enquiries.
