When to vote at the KCC
- Advance voting: Saturday, October 3; Wednesday, October 7; Saturday, October 10; and Tuesday, October 13
- General voting day: Saturday, October 17
- Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every voting day
- Where: Kerrisdale Community Centre Gymnasium (main floor), 5851 West Boulevard

You can vote anywhere in Vancouver
You don’t have to vote at the KCC. Vancouver voters can vote at any voting place in the city, on any voting day. There are 59 advance voting places and 85 places on October 17. Find the one that suits you on the City’s Where to vote map.
What to bring
- Your Voter Information Card, if you received one in the mail.
- Not on the voters list yet? You can be added at the voting place. Bring two pieces of ID that together show your name, address and signature (for example a driver’s licence, a utility bill or a bank statement). If you only have one piece of ID, you may be able to make a solemn declaration instead.
You can vote if you’re 18 or older on October 17, a Canadian citizen, have lived in BC for at least six months, and have lived in Vancouver (or owned property here) for at least 30 days. Full details are in the City’s voter’s guide.
What’s on the ballot
This year’s ballot is a big one! You’ll vote for:
- 1 mayor
- 10 City councillors
- 7 Park Board commissioners
- 9 School Board trustees
You’ll also answer 3 Capital Plan borrowing questions and 2 plebiscite questions. There are 130 candidates in total, and they’re listed in random order on the ballot, not alphabetically.

Plan your vote
The City’s Plan Your Vote tool lets you choose your candidates and answer the ballot questions ahead of time. It emails you your plan, lists your choices in the order you’ll find them on the ballot, and adds your voting day to your calendar.
Accessible voting
Every voting place offers a priority access line and help marking your ballot, and interpretation is available in more than 240 languages. At the KCC, curbside voting is available near our main entrance if you can’t come inside. Learn more about voting accessibility.
Voting by mail
If you’ve already received a mail ballot, it must reach the City by 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. You can still pick up a vote-by-mail package in person at the Election Office (305 West 8th Avenue) until October 13. See vote by mail for details.
Bringing the kids?
Children from preschool to Grade 3 can cast their own ballot with Kids Vote, at Vancouver Public Library branches from October 3 to 17, including Kerrisdale Library. They’ll answer fun questions about their city and get a Future Voter sticker! Learn more about Kids Vote and Student Vote.
