Vancouver Votes In Decisive By-election

On the heels of a packed all-candidates meeting at the Kerrisdale Community Centre, Vancouver’s April 5 civic by-election saw COPE’s Sean Orr and OneCity’s Lucy Maloney sweep to victory.

In response, the community-centre-backed Save Our Park Board coalition says: “This decisive election result sends a message to Mayor Ken Sim and his ABC party. Close to 68,000 votes were cast in the election. Vancouver residents endured long waits at polling stations to show their opposition to many of the mayor’s policies, including his attempt to abolish the elected Vancouver Park Board.” Read the full press release here.
