January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. As the Alzheimer Society of B.C. says on its website, there are several ways you can help reduce your risk of developing dementia. One way is through regular exercise, including aerobic activities. Well, we can help with that!
Check out our winter 2023 group fitness programs and sign up for one today. Start by strengthening and relaxing your muscles in a Gentle Fit class, especially designed for seniors. Then push yourself a bit more in a Total Body Conditioning or Mild/Moderate Cardio workout. Finally, step it up in a music-beat-infused Zumba or High Cardio class. Currently some 70,000 British Columbians are living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. But by being physically active, you can help reduce such dementia risk factors as diabetes, depression, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. See you in class soon!
