Kerrisdale Seniors Centre Vaccination Site

Book your appointment for a jab!

The Park Board and the Kerrisdale Community Centre Society have reached an agreement with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) to use the Kerrisdale Seniors Centre as a Covid vaccination site. Depending on the need, the vaccination site may remain open from March to August 2021.

The Society Board of Directors overwhelmingly supported this alternate use of the Seniors Centre. All seniors’ fitness and recreation programs that were previously scheduled for the Seniors Centre have been shifted to spaces in the main community centre. Please refer to the program brochure for program days, times, and locations. In order to accommodate this important undertaking, the seniors’ lunch program will be closed until the fall (September 2021).

To book your appointment for a jab call 1-877-587-5767. It is recommended by VCH when trying to book an appointment that you have a pen and paper handy, as well as your personal health number, full name, date of birth, postal code and phone number. Check the BC Government website (link below) to see when it is your turn to book an appointment.

  1. I have an appointment for a shot at 9.15 on March 31st at Kerrisdale Community Centre. I am allergic to vegetable dyes and formaldehyde and its derivatives – is the vaccine I will receive free from any of them ?

    2. Good question as I’m wondering the same. I just booked an apt but nowhere does it advise which vaccine I will get. Just spent an hour trying to find this info with no luck. I don’t want Astra one so it will be a waste of everyone’s time if that’s the one they are giving. Ridiculous that this info is not provided with your booking!!!!

      1. Yes I agree. I haven’t been able to find this information either and I don’t want AZ. I want to know which vaccines they have at this location before I go in for my appointment!

  2. I have an appointment for the vaccine tomorrow April 7th, and I have it marked down as at 4:15pm. Could someone please email me to confirm I have the correct time. Much appreciated…. ( I had marked down both my and my friend’s time, and just hope I didn’t mix them up.)

    1. Hi Joy

Sorry, I just saw your message and hope you made it to your appointment successfully. The KCC is only the venue and is not involved in administering vaccinations; this is the VCH’s role.

      1. Hello
I’m immunocompromised but not part of the vulnerable group. If I come at the end of the day are any vaccines likely to be left over ?

  3. In case of an allergic reaction to any of the vaccines, is your location ready and equipped to deal with medical emergencies that may occur after the injection?

  4. I have heard that one can come at the vaccination site without an appoitment and wait in line until all the registered people have been done with vaccination and in case people don’t show up there is a chance to get that spot so vaccines don’t get wasted? By the way, I have registered myself several times now on the BC website and have multiple registrations numbers but no one is emailing or calling. My age is group is 45.

  5. Hi there, I had an appointment for for next week – May 20. However, I had to cancel as I’m leaving for work. I’d really like to get vaccinated before I leave. Is there a cancellation list we can get on? Thanks!!

  6. Do you have private rooms or beds available for those who are not comfortable with needles and need to lie down to receive the shot? What options are available to those who have a history of passing out when receiving a needle?

  7. Got my vaccine yesterday and the gentleman who was handing out stickers would literally place them on people’s chests for them. It was inappropriate and looking around the room you could see the discomfort on many of the people’s faces as he would do so. He did it to me and it made me very uncomfortable.
The individual handing out stickers should not be touching people, just handing stickers to people who want them.

    1. Hi Jane

Sorry to hear of your experience and thank you for your feedback. I will forward your email to the centre manager to follow up with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as they are operating the vaccination clinic at Kerrisdale.

      Vaccination Clinic Parking

Enter the parking lot from West 42nd Avenue and go to the building entrance facing the parking lot; it’s clearly marked “Vaccinations here.” Allow extra time to find parking as space at the Centre is limited.

  8. I have a senior who is unstable in walking. Do you have wheelchair that she can use to take her from parking lot to the building that can be used for the length of her appt? She is booked for Sat June 26 at 1:30z
