The Kerrisdale-Musqueam Story Circle, launched in June of this year, continues with a second event on Sunday, November 13, 1-4 p.m., at the Kerrisdale Community Centre. All ages are invited to register for this free event featuring guest speaker Michael Blackstock. The Gitxsan artist and scholar will headline a conversation on Indigenous knowledge and water sustainability.
Blackstock will also introduce his recently published book, Oceaness, which includes poems, essays and art works on water, ecology, oral history, human rights, music and humour. (The book continues to be showcased in the centre’s Indigenous Pop-up Library.)
Each participant will receive a signed copy of Blackstock’s poetry collection, Salmon Run, a gift made possible by the Vancouver Arts Colloquium Society. Register here or call 604-257-8100.
