Food Services Coordinator
The Kerrisdale Community Centre Society is looking for a food services coordinator to manage kitchen operations at the Kerrisdale Seniors Centre. The coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the seniors lunch program, which serves an average of 125 people each day Monday-Saturday, and the operation of a small coffee bar.  The coordinator must manage staff and volunteers effectively, and operate the kitchen in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner.

Considerable independent action and judgement are exercised in day-to-day activities related to kitchen operations. Policy matters and unusual situations are discussed with a supervisor who reviews work for quality and effectiveness. Flexibility, serenity and a positive attitude to providing service to the senior clientele are essential.

Food Services Assistant
The Kerrisdale Community Centre Society is looking for a food services assistant to assist the food services coordinator in preparing and serving a daily lunch and coffee bar service at the Kerrisdale Seniors Centre. The assistant must work effectively with volunteers and exercise some independent action and judgement in day-to-day activities related to kitchen operations. The food services assistant‘s responsibilities include cooking the daily menu and preparing baked goods; keeping food stock organized, ensuring proper food handling and health standards and performing other related duties as required. Flexibility, serenity and a positive attitude to providing service to the senior clientele are essential.

This is a part-time position; regular hours of work are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. two days per week. Additional shifts may be required to cover staff illness and vacations.
