Emergency Preparedness Workshops
Kerrisdale Earthquake & Emergency Preparedness (KEEP) is a group of community volunteers helping to prepare Kerrisdale individuals, businesses, organizations and others for major emergencies & disasters such as earthquakes, wildfires, urban fires, floods, extreme weather events & more. Their aim is to build preparedness, strengthen resilience, expedite recovery and reduce suffering & loss.
*Individual & Family Earthquake & Emergency Preparedness – learn actions you can take now to protect yourself, others and pets in the event of an emergency or disaster. June 16, 9:30 – 11 a.m. Repeated July 14, 9:30 – 11 am. Kerrisdale Seniors Centre
*Map Your Neighbourhood –learn how to prepare & organize your immediate neighbours to work as a team to save lives, protect vulnerable people & pets, reduce loss and recover faster after a disaster. Sessions follow the June 16 & July 14 Preparedness Sessions above – 11:15 am to noon.
*Disaster Support Hub (DSH) Table Top Exercise – Seen the sign attached to the Kerrisdale Community Centre? A DSH is a designated location where you can come to offer or receive community assistance, resources, services and information. Attend this exercise to be prepared and help. July 16, 6:30 – 8pm. Repeated Aug. 20, 6:30 – 8pm. Kerrisdale Community Centre
